In 1994, Atlantis Travel Group was founded by Ibrahim Ramadan, linking Scandinavian tourists to the Red Sea Beach and Diving Resorts of Egypt. Atlantis Rejser was the first Tour Operator to operate direct flights from Denmark to Sharm el Sheikh.  Soon after from Sweden then further expansion to Hurghada, Luxor, Taba, and Marsa Alam destinations.

The concept since the birth of Atlantis Egypt was to treat each guest on holiday, individually. An efficient, professional, enjoyable experience awaited each arriving guest, with a focus on quality and care.  This concept formed the foundation of Atlantis Egypt and our ground handling services from arrival to departure.

Mixing the warmth of Egyptian hospitality with Scandinavian innovativeness made Atlantis the preferred Scandinavian traveller choice. Atlantis was awarded the best charter Tour Operator in Denmark by Danish travellers in 2007 and 2017; both awards were determined by vote of the guests as opposed to industry professionals.  A 40% guest retention ‘year-on-year’ was a significant element in both the Company’s growth and reputation for providing a reliable and quality service. This was one of the key building blocks strengthening the Atlantis foundation.

We believe Atlantis was conceived mixing the best of cultures and a deep respect for making the holiday of each guest a memorable one.  Atlantis Egypt welcomes over 100,000 guests a year, from Scandinavia and the Benelux source markets.  We base our company values on the same principals today, as we did since the company’s foundation in 1994.

‘Guest in Focus’ has been the core of Atlantis Egypt Destination Management business practices since 1994; over the years evolving and refined to match guest requirements and expectations.


A second bedrock of our service concept is our Team’s local product knowledge; we continually monitor and evaluate what we offer our guests.  We determine both quality and price; this level of focus ensures the ability to maximise guests overall experience and have a happy holiday.


Finally, an efficient and well trained, ‘flat structured organisation’ monitors the holiday environment of the guest from arrival until guests’ departure. When required to do so, empowered team members are trained to take fast ‘’on the spot’’ decisions, securing a holiday that remains an enjoyable one.

Our logo - the Horus eye

Our logo is the Eye of Horus or Wadjet, one of the strongest symbols in Ancient Egypt.
It represents protection, resurrection and health.

The myth behind the strong symbol is to be found in the early tales of Egypt when the Gods ruled. The god Seth killed his brother Osiris and scattered his body all over Egypt. Osiris’s wife the goddess Isis gathered his body and resurrected him. Isis conceived a divine child. Isis gave birth to Horus, and Osiris became the king of the underworld instead. When Horus grew up he wanted to avenge his father’s death, and got into fights with Seth. During one of these fights, Seth tore out Horus’s eye and split it in six parts. The goddess Hathor restored the eye and this is why the eye still today represents protection, resurrection and healing.

You will still see Egyptians todays use the symbol for protection. They paint it on their homes, their cars, their fishing boats, and it is also common to wear jewelry with the eye for protection.
